Hi, I'm Kate, I am 45 and live in SW London, I am a creative business owner (handmade jewellery), counsellor/psychotherapist, mentor and Mum.
My first degree was in Zoology, which whilst I loved it (my love of nature has always been there) I did not pursue it, instead I worked in London in a series of rather uninspiring jobs during my twenties but they did pay the bills. Office life wasn't for me, and I re-trained as a counsellor and psychotherapist 13 years ago, starting as a volunteer at a counselling agency in Feltham, a deprived part of London, followed by a period overseas in Prague and then back here to work in private practice whilst my daughter was small and I still do now. It was during this time that I started my Grace & Flora jewellery business as I wanted to balance the sometimes difficult work of counselling with something creative and inspiring - and I haven't looked back. I find it very fulfilling and rewarding on both sides of my work, and know, especially after those uninspiring days in London offices, as well as some personal roadblocks, how fortunate I now am to have been able to make this happen.
My experience of starting a business that supports my life and is making me happy, along with my Professional Diploma in Counselling and Masters in Psychotherapy, and 13 years experience working in that field give me a great deal of knowledge of how creative humans work. My skills as a therapist and small business creative are joined together in what I can offer as a mentor, I hope giving you, the best of both worlds.
You can find me and my jewellery business on instagram @graceandflora where I am lucky to have a following of 11k+ and my website is at www.graceandflora.co.uk.
